what's up? i'm kasim, a multi-faceted journalist, multimedia creative, scholar, producer, host, and photographer who specializes in storytelling.
Kasim endeavors to tell stories authentically, whether it’s through his recognizable vibrant videography, photography style, or thought-proven writing work. He wants people to see art the way they see fit.
Kasim self-taught himself videography and photography as a sophomore in college. He did so to cultivate a platform for himself and others dedicated to the visibility of black and afro-Latinx communities through his artistry and research topics.
Kasim is skilled at communicating via words and imagery, with a rare ability to connect with all audiences. His work aims to reinvent notions of creativity and confidence within black culture. Kasim received his Master's in Journalism in 2021 at Georgetown University to enhance his skill set. Kasim has bylines with ABC News, The Today Show, Dallas Morning News, Power 106 Radio Station, and Matador Content.

Kasim believes that creating and/or assisting others to create their narratives through pictures and words will help bridge the liberation we want to see in our world! As our world rapidly becomes a digital landscape, Kasim wants to make sure our cultural impact doesn’t get lost in that timeline.
A proud Dallas, TX native, Kasim is a University of Texas at Austin alumni who graduated with an African and African American Diaspora Studies Degree with a Minor in Radio, TV, and Film. His interests include trying new restaurants, listening to upcoming hip-hop and R&B artists, and dominating his friends in 2K.

In 2024, Kasim has been behind the lens capturing upstart music platform Front Row Live, and its magic since the very beginning. As co-founder and the one wielding the camera and editing the performances, Kasim had the pleasure of translating the intimate Front Row Live vibe into the visually captivating format it is today. The intimate setup combined with his editing touch has resonated with thousands across all social media platforms, garnering hundreds and thousands of views. But FRL isn't just about the online world anymore. Recently, he led the charge in expanding the brand with city-to-city live activations and even secured sponsorships from the likes of Audiomack for SXSW, proving FRL's potential to create a truly immersive music experience.

2021 saw Kasim join SZNs Chnge as the Creative Director of the Dallas-based collective that runs events with a focus on shifting the way people share experiences in Texas. The collective has thrown events such as ‘One Up', a collaboration with Oak Cliff Film Festival, screening music videos on the opening night of the festival, and "PhotoSynthesis," a Roc-Nation Brunch-esque art event powered by the City of Dallas Art Division, highlighting the City Cultural BathHouse.
